Paintings & Prints
My abstract paintings in acrylics show my interest in color and texture. In experimenting and layering. They are primarily based on the wonders of the outside world. Afternoon light or fanciful gardens or misty rain or darkening skies. Some are highly textured while others are smooth. Colors range from deep burgundies to soft yellows to vivid blues to pulsating oranges.
Nested Branches
These woven wire nests atop branches reflect my fascination with natural materials. Tiny nests are delicately woven with copper wire and often house the smallest of “eggs.” The branches are real and usually painted white to highlight their shape. Wire is wrapped around select branches to draw the eye and create a sense of movement. They can be hung directly on walls, framed, or placed on flat surfaces.
Patterns & Products
The patterns originate from my paintings and geometric drawings. The repeated lines, circles, squares, and other shapes may reference something real – an old-fashioned telephone switchboard – or they may show an imaginary collision of triangles. The more fantastical pieces may seem dramatically different from my other artwork but they share an emphasis on form, color, and movement.
